I am a retired tradesman, the father of three boys and a grandfather to four girls and two boys.  I spent the last 32 years in the country on an acreage just west of Medicine Hat, Alberta in Canada; I have however just recently moved back to the city.                                                                                                                                                                  The prairies, coulees, river valleys, and Cypress Hills of southern Alberta is where I grew up and where I do most of my nature photography.   The love of nature and the natural world started at a very early age for me. My favorite boyhood memories growing up were family outings in the countryside, fishing trips, and visits to our relatives on the farm.  I was always off exploring the countryside trying to catch every living creature to make it my pet.  Fishing, hunting, backpacking, camping, and canoe trips, all became a big part of my adolescent life...these activities led to a real appreciation of nature and ultimately my photography hobby.  At first I was only a casual user with 35 mm SLR film cameras, but became more serious with the advancement of digital photography.  I am self taught and have become very passionate about bird photography; which goes hand in hand with one of my other passions, and that is "birding".  I have been photographing birds since 2011 and launched this website in 2013.  Although my main focus is on birds I am starting to add all other wildlife, as well as landscape to my photographic endeavors.  Now that I'm retired I have time to travel so my nature photography has taken me to the west coast of Canada, Arizona, and a recent trip to Australia and New Zealand.
